Union decries lack of action over Monday's attack on police officers
Officers of the Greek Police's (ELAS) now-defunct motorcycle-riding DELTA force were attacked on Monday by a group of around 50 self-styled anarchists outside the Athens Court of First Instance.
Three were being treated at the capital's 401 Military Hospital, one with head injuries, after the unidentified assailants hit them with helmets and wooden sticks.
All police teams authorized to issue traffic fines with new regulation
In addition to traffic police, all police units and gendarmerie will now be able to fine drivers who do not abide by traffic rules, as per a circular note issued by the Interior Ministry.

Police avert attempted truck robbery in northern Athens
Greek police averted a truck robbery early on Tuesday morning in Metamorfosi, a suburb in northern Athens, but failed to catch the perpetrators.
Four suspects attempted to break into a truck parked on Kapodistriou street at 3.05 a.m., but were spotted by policemen in a patrol car who tried to stop them.
