The average gross nominal salary was 5,779 RON in June, higher by 84 RON than the previous month, while the average nominal net value has gone up to 3,541 RON, rising by 49 RON (rd 10 Euro), reported to the reference period, according to the data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Pay in Romania's Horeca industry have increased by up to 20% since 2019, according to more than half of the representatives of such companies participating in a recent survey, with some instances of average salaries exceeding 4,000 lei, according to data centralised by an online recruitment platform released on Tuesday.

Recruitment optimism has returned to pre-pandemic levels, with employers in 42 of the 43 countries surveyed by the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook (MEOS) reporting stronger recruitment prospects than last year.

The survey was conducted on more than 45,000 employers.
