The Traffic Police department of the Sofia police directorate will propose changes to the Penal Code and the Road Traffic Act aimed at strengthening sanctions for violations.

The proposal envisages the criminalization of speeding, drink-driving, and driving without a license.

Bulgarian national dies in car crash

BELGRADE -- One person died while two others were injured - one of whom seriously - in a traffic accident on the highway leading from the airport to central Belgrade.

The accident happened at 05:10 CET on Friday.

A 35-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger died on Wednesday after their car veered off the old national highway between Kozani and Thessaloniki in northern Greece.

The vehicle crashed into a tree, inflicting fatal injuries on both the driver and his female passenger.
