Turkish Airlines to start requiring PCR submissions as of Dec 30

Turkish Airlines will begin requiring passengers on overseas flights to submit negative PCR tests as of Dec. 30, the national flag carrier announced late on Dec. 26.

According to a statement posted on the company's official social media accounts, the requirement will come into effect with a two-day delay from the previously announced date.

Turkey's flag carrier conducted an evacuation flight on Dec. 25 from the U.K. for those stranded as regular flights were halted because of the new strain of the coronavirus.  

A plane initially took off from Istanbul at noon with passengers who complied with coronavirus conditions and wanted to go to London.

The plane from Toronto Pearson International Airport safely landed at Istanbul Airport at 12.25 p.m. local time (0925GMT).
