 President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared a remarkable leap in Türkiye's export performance, emphasizing that what the country exported in a week in 2002, it now exports in a single day.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan 11th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting with Akılbek Caparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, and signed the 11th Term JEC Protocol on Friday.

Turkish Airlines has been awarded the top services exporter title for the year 2022, the national flag carrier has announced.

The company generated $15.8 billion in revenues from services exports last year, which marked a strong 70 percent increase from 2021, the carrier said in a statement.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has vowed to bring inflation, which is currently running at below 40 percent, down to single digits.

Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati has said he had a "fruitful" meeting with the representatives of the business world in Istanbul.

"We held a productive meeting today with our representatives from the business world, the real sector and [nongovernmental organizations] NGOs," Nebati wrote on his Twitter account on Dec. 11 after the meeting.

Accounting for half of the top 10 companies, automotive firms have dominated Turkey's list of largest exporters, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) announced on Sept. 18.

Ford was named Turkey's largest exporter in 2020, followed by Toyota Engine Manufacturing Turkey and Oyak Renault.

Turkey will take new steps to help the country's exporters, including removing the requirement for security deposits,
restructuring Turkish Eximbank, and establishing a new fair center, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Sept. 18.

Turkey's automotive sector topped the country's exports with $30.6 billion in 2019, while Istanbul was the largest exporter city in the country.

Overall exports increased 2 percent to reach $180.47 billion, hitting historical highs in 2019, according to data compiled by Anadolu Agency from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM).

Turkey will continue retaliating against U.S. sanctions but will stay open to dialogue and cooperation, Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said at a meeting organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) in the capital Ankara on Aug. 17. 

Turkey’s exports rose 16.3 percent on a yearly basis to reach nearly $12.2 billion in January, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) announced on Feb. 1.
