Oneiroupoli at Drama
Oneiroupoli (meaning “City of Dreams”) takes place at Drama – northeastern Greece – for the eleventh consecutive year and invites residents and visitors alike to take a trip into a world of fairytales from December 4 through to January 4. Takes place at the Municipal Garden of Drama in a magical setting linked to the town’s central square where other festive activities take place. CLICK HERE for more info
Paramithohora at Chalkidiki, northern Greece
A Christmas village for young and old where guests are offered a plethora of activities, mainly concerned with stories – after all, in Greek “Paramythohora” means land of fairytales. Santa’s grotto is there as well as a train where visitors can do the rounds at the Christmas village that is located at Stratoni. Runs from December 19 through to January 1 with free admission. Free transfer from Thessaloniki straight to Paramithohora.
Christmas Factory in Athens
In its third year, the Christmas factory runs at the Gazi Factory (100 Pireos Street) daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from November 27 through to January 6. There is lots of Christmas cheer for young and old with rides, workshops and Santa’s elves! Admission is at 5.5 euros. CLICK HERE for more info
Asteroupoli at Ioanina
Dozens of events are offered at Paralimnio from November 27 through to January 10 with constant activity and Christmas events from morning until night. Ice skating rink, carousels, rides, music, pirate ships and Santa Claus are on offer! CLICK HERE for more info
The Forest of Elves at Kozani
Magical Christmas are coming to Western Macedonia with the new Christmas village that has been set up at the Exhibition Center of West Macedonia at Kila of Kozani. The heart of Christmsa beats here from December 4 through to January 2016. Visitors can post their letters to Santa, listen to fairytales, get face painting, admire the wishing waterfall and more. Christmas Village at Kilkis
The feeling of a festive circus-like Christmas with acrobats and funny elves are all to be had at Irinis Square, Kilkis from December 19 through to December 31.
Village of the World, Katerini
It’s all about charity and tradition as local customs come to life. Admission price costs a donation that could be two kilos worth of anything. In return you get traditional Greek Christmas cheer.
Paramythoupoli, Giannitsa
Santa Claus is the host of the fifth event that runs from December 13 through to January 3. Enjoy the ice skating rink, concerts, workshops and games.
Xylino Horio at Florina
Northern Greece is wintry and ideal for the Christmas spirit. The Florina wooden village is a picturesque seasonal park full of traditional products and yuletide cheer. From December 18 through to January 6.
Mill of the Elves in Trikala of Thessaly
The Christmas village at Matsopoulos Mill kicked open its doors from November 27 and will run through to January 3 with free activities for kids and the young at years. Visit Santa’s grotto, fairy houses, a post office where you can mail your letters to Santa as well as the baker of the elves. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. CLICK HERE for more.
Asterocosmos at Thessaloniki, Northern Greece
Asterocosmos (Star World) has returned to the Thessaloniki International Exhibition (TIF HElexpo) where it will be set up and ready to welcome kiddies and the young at heart a number of festive offerings. The fair runs from December 12 through to January 10, 2016, and will operate in Pavilions 13-15 that will be filled with games and workshops organized by Santa’s elves as well as theaterperformances, interactive theme parks and delicious festive treats. Admission is at 7 euros and includes all 16 rides within and outside Pavilion 13 with access to two ice rinks, an Elves Village and four interactive theme areas (Elves Kitchen, Elves Art Gallery, Santa’s House, and the Christmas Pranks rooms).
