Latest energy efficiency upgrade subsidies program announced

The Environment and Energy Ministry and the National Economy and Finance Ministry have co-announced the latest edition of a subsidy program supporting energy efficiency upgrades of homes.

The subsidy program, Exoikonomo Kat' Oikon 2025, or Saving At Home, which has been allocated a budget of 434 million euros, is designed to subsidize energy-efficiency upgrades of properties used as primary homes - either houses or flats.

The program aims to achieve energy savings of over 30% per property by upgrading the energy-category rating of homes by at least three levels through energy-efficiency improvements.

The program will offer increased subsidy rates for upgrades in flood-affected areas (Thessaly), earthquake-impacted regions (Samos and Arkalochori, Crete), low-income families, large families with three or more children, and households with disabled members.
