PM, PASOK leader to eulogize Costas Simitis

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis will be among the officials who will deliver an eulogy at the funeral service of former premier Costas Simitis, who died on January 5, aged 88.

The service will take place on Thursday at the Metropolis of Athens.

Other notable speakers include former PASOK minister and professor Tasos Giannitsis, and Emeritus Professor of Political Sociology at Panteion University Yannis Voulgaris, and Emeritus Professor of Social Theory and Sociology at EKPA Constantinos Tsoukalas.

Simitis, who served as prime minister and PASOK leader from 1996 to 2004, is credited with guiding Greece into the Eurozone and shaping the country's modern political and economic landscape.
