Macedonia Shootout Verdicts Trigger Protests in Kosovo

Dozens of protesters gathered in Peja, Kosovo, on Thursday to condemn the heavy jail terms bestowed on 37 Albanians accused of taking part in a bloody two-day gun battle with police in the northern Macedonian town of Kumanovo in May 2o15.

Kosovo's Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, said he had recalled Kosovo's ambassador to Macedonia for consutations.

Haradinaj scraps decision to expropriate Brezovica

PRISTINA - At a session chaired by PM Ramus Haradinaj, the Kosovo government on Friday scrapped a decision on expropriation of real estate for public interest, which concerns a project in the Mt Brezovica ski resort.

The move, announced on the Kosovo government's official website, came after the project fell through.

Kosovo Police Stop 'Illegal' Serb Census Attempts

Kosovo Police said they raided Serbian Red Cross centres on the authorisation of the courts on Wednesday night in Prizren, Pristina, Pejë/Pec, Gjilan/Gnjilane and Mitrovicë/Mitrovica.

"Seized documents are suspected to be related to a census, considered suspicious and in contradiction to the law, as a census should be conducted by Kosovo institutions," the police press release said.

Vucic backs Serbs in Kosovo cabinet even though Haradinaj is criminal

Aleksandar Vucic late on Tuesday said that Kosovo and Metohija represents the essence of the political "present time, and the future" of Serbia.

Besides, the Serbian president said that he supported the decision of the Serb (Srpska) List to enter the Kosovo government - while Serbia "would not change its opinion" on the new Kosovo government's head, Ramush Haradinaj.
