Outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants kidnapped four people, including two civilians, in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 21, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Hakkari Governor Cüneyit Orhan Toprak confirmed that PKK militants intercepted a civilian vehicle near Doğanlı village in the province's Çukurca district.

Five outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, including those who killed a local politician on Sept. 14, were killed as part of ongoing operations in the Şemdinli district of the eastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 16, military sources have said. 

Turkish warplanes have conducted airstrikes against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in the southeastern province of Hakkari and northern Iraq, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has announced.

Among the 28,163 teachers dismissed through a state of emergency decree published in Turkey's Official Gazette on Sept. 2, some 3,487 were from Istanbul, more than any other province, daily Habertürk reported on Sept. 15. 

Nearly 200 militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have been killed in ongoing security operations in the Çukurca district of the southeastern province of Hakkari, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has announced, as recently appointed Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu vowed that Ankara would be "relentless" against terrorism.

At least three militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) were killed in airstrikes carried out by Turkish jets in the country's southeast, the military announced on Sept. 13.      

Turkey's Interior Ministry appointed trustees to 28 local municipalities across the country on Sept. 11 on the grounds that they allegedly provided support to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which was accused of staging the failed coup attempt of July 15, sparking angry reaction from the opposition.

The first passenger plane in 13 months has landed at Selahaddin Eyyubi Airport in the Yüksekova district of the eastern province of Hakkari, following a long hiatus due to clashes between the Turkish state and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The security forces' fight against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) is a "do-or-die" struggle, the commander of Turkey's gendarmerie forces has said, discussing ongoing operations in the Çukurca district of Hakkari province.
