Constitutional Court to deliberate on law on notaries
VRNJACKA BANJA, - Due to the situation in the judiciary, the Serbian Constitutional Court has decided to deliberate by urgent procedure on initiatives to assess the constitutionality of laws regulating the competences of public notaries, over which lawyers across Serbia have been on strike for nearly a month.

BELGRADE - Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic has called on the attorneys wishing to stop striking to go back to work, stressing that those who are hindering them could be held criminally accountable.
Gov't suspends Bar Association instructions
BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday suspended the Bar Association of Serbia instructions ordering lawyers to go on strike under threat of disciplinary action or being banned from legal practice, which will enable all lawyers who are willing to go back to work to do so on Friday without the fear of losing their licences.

Lawyers continue strike, demand Selakovic to resign

Justice minister urges lawyers not to strike
BELGRADE - Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic called on lawyers in Serbia not to suspend their work and to continue talks on lump sum taxation with the Ministries of Justice and Finance in the week to come.

Parliament adopts laws necessary for public notary work
BELGRADE - The Serbian parliament adopted on Sunday three laws in the justice sector, which allow public notaries to begin their work as of September 1.
The adopted laws comprise the Law on signature, script and correspondence verification, the Law on real estate sale and the bill of amendments to the Law on court taxes. The three adopted laws will enter into force on Monday.
Debate on laws necessary for public notary work
BELGRADE - Most parliamentary parties announced on Friday that they would back the laws necessary for the beginning of public notary work as of September 1, noting that the adoption of the laws would make room for an increased legal security and a better environment for attracting investors.

Govt adopts bill on court taxes for public notaries
BELGRADE - The Serbian government adopted at its Tuesday session the bill of amendments to the Law on Court Taxes which proposes new court tax figures for public notary tasks.
As an interim solution, the basic courts will perform public notary tasks in municipalities where public notaries have not been appointed yet, the Serbian government for Cooperation with the Media released.
