Demolition work begins at illegal Athens cemetery
Workers began dismantling a cemetery in the southern Athens suburb of Glyfada on Friday that was built illegally by the local municipality.
The cemetery was established on the slopes of Mount Hymettus in 2011 but only a few burials took place before authorities stepped in.

A 22-year-old man will be facing an Athens prosecutor on Tuesday after allegedly confessing to killing a 41-year-old homeless woman in the coastal suburb of Glyfada on April 20 as a "sacrifice to Satan."
Tram running normally after work is carried out
The tram was running normally again in Athens on Wednesday after the completion of engineering works.
Services had been disrupted for several days due to works between the Glyfada Town Hall and Asklipeio Hospital stops in southern Athens.

Trams to terminate in Glyfada on Tuesday, Wednesday night
Trams bound for the southern Athenian suburb of Voula from Syntagma Square in the city center and the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) near Piraeus will terminate at Glyfadas old city hall on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 p.m. until the end of the shift.
The change is due to maintenance work being carried out on the track from the Glyfada stop to the Askleipio terminus in Voula.
Glyfada Municipality refuses to dig up dead and close illegal cemetery
The Municipality of Glyfada insisted on Thursday that a cemetery it opened in 2011 is perfectly legal and indicated that it would defy a central government order to dig up and remove the bodies that had been buried there as well a demolishing a small chapel.
