Steps sought to prevent Attica residents from flocking to seaside
As daytime temperatures start to rise and lockdown fatigue sets in, the government and local officials at seaside Attica municipalities are seeking ways to discourage citizens from flocking to the capital's beaches and coastal promenades for their daily constitutionals.
Cars torched in Glyfada
Police in Athens were seeking the unidentified arsonists who torched five cars in the suburb of Glyfada southeast of Athens early Monday morning.
Firefighters were called on Tainarou Street around 2 a.m. to extinguish the fires.
No injuries were reported.

Police probe arson attacks across Attica
Police on Monday were probing a series of overnight arson attacks in different parts of Attica.
The perpetrators targeted a car dealership, vehicles, a bank ATM and a cafe, causing damage but no injuries.

Media: Darko Kovacevic has been shot at
Former Serbia striker Darko Kovacevic was shot at on Tuesday evening outside his home in the Athens suburb of Glyfada, the Athens News Agency (ANA) reported, along with prototheme.gr web portal.
The gunman's burning car was found near the airport.
Kovacevic suffered a knee injury and was taken to a local hospital.

Vandals use sledgehammers to smash bank facade
Unidentified assailants used sledgehammers to smash the facade of a bank on Vouliagmenis Avenue in the Athens suburb of Dafni in the early hours of Monday morning.
The attack, which occurred at 2.30 a.m., was recorded by surveillance cameras, according to the police who were seeking the perpetrators.

British woman dies in house fire in Glyfada, southern Athens
A 65-year-old British woman died in a fire in her home in the southern Athenian suburb of Glyfada in the early hours of Friday, Greece's fire service has said.
According to the report, the woman was found dead in her living room after firefighters extinguished a blaze in her ground-floor apartment on Poseidonos Avenue at around 2 a.m.
Robbers blow up ATM at southern Athens mall; guard lightly injured
A security guard sustained light injuries in a blast at a shopping mall in the southern Athens suburb of Glyfada in the early hours of Friday.
The explosion took place at around 4 a.m. when unknown assailants blasted open an ATM and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
It appears that the blast was quite powerful, causing significant damage to the premises.
Four attacks reported in less than half an hour on Athens banks, ND offices
Unknown assailants carried out a barrage of four attacks in under half an hour on banks and on offices belonging to the New Democracy party in different parts of Athens in the early hours of Monday.
Police investigate cash-in-transit robbery in Dafni
Police are investigating a cash-in-transit robbery that took place in the Athens suburb of Dafni early Wednesday.
Police said the security guard was held at gunpoint by two men as he was about to load an ATM machine on Vouliagmenis Avenue.
The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No more information was immediately available about the incident.
Armed robber nabbed
A 39-year-old man was arrested in Alimos, southern Athens, on Saturday and was charged with a number of betting shop robberies in various parts of Attica.
According to police, the suspect has committed more than 30 robberies.
He was arrested shortly after robbing a shop in Ano Glyfada, southern Athens, by police with the assistance of the DIAS motorcycle unit.
