Chrysochoidis to inspect Evros border amid reports of reinforcements
Citizens' Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis was on Wednesday expected to carry out an inspection along the country's land border with Turkey amid reports that Greek police decided to strengthen the area's defenses with the mobilization of additional forces.

Police issue 18 fines over lack of masks
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Wednesday recorded 18 instances in which citizens had not been wearing a mask in an enclosed public space, a police statement said on Thursday.
Of those violations, four were in Western Greece, three on Crete and two in Attica. Since the government began easing the lockdown on May 4, 304 such violations have been recorded nationwide.

Police record 22 violations of coronavirus regulations
As part of continuing efforts to enforce restrictions that remain in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Monday recorded 22 violations in which citizens had not been wearing a mask in an enclosed public space, a police statement said on Tuesday.
Police arrest 52-year-old over Kypseli square mugging call
A 52-year-old man is accused of instigating clashes between police and partygoers in the downtown Athens district of Kypseli in the early hours of Saturday by calling the 100 emergency number and claiming he had been mugged at knifepoint.
Police record 1,228 new lockdown violations
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Thursday recorded 1,228 violations of a public lockdown introduced in March to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Of those transgressions, 536 were in Attica, 196 in Thessaloniki, 109 in Central Macedonia, 85 on Crete, 66 in Western Greece, 48 in Thessaly and 46 in the Peloponnese.

Most lockdown infringements in Attica
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Tuesday recorded a total of 1,567 violations of a public lockdown introduced last month to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Of those transgressions, the majority (814) were in Attica, with 167 in Thessaloniki, 93 on Crete, 80 on the Ionian islands, 54 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and 46 in Thessaly.

Coronavirus lockdown violations rise to 48,145
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Tuesday recorded 1,168 violations of a public lockdown introduced a month ago to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The largest number of transgressions (442) were in Attica, followed by 117 in Thessaloniki, 101 in Western Greece, 91 on the Ionian islands and 87 on Crete.

Warnings of possible spike in domestic violence
An adviser to Citizens' Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis has said it is too early to say whether a public lockdown has resulted in an increase in domestic violence but warned that the conditions could increase pressures and lead to a spike.
