Dramatic chase in Kifisia: Stolen vehicle crashes into pole – One injured and two arrested
According to initial reports from the Hellenic Police, the incident began around 11:50 AM when the police received a call about a stolen vehicle outside the Acharnes Town Hall.
Following this, police officers from the DIAS unit spotted the vehicle and signaled for it to stop, but the driver did not comply.
Measures afoot to radically transform police force
The Citizen Protection Ministry is reportedly drafting a bill seeking the radical transformation of the Hellenic Police (ELAS).
The bill will introduce targeted interventions in the structure, organization and operation of ELAS in order to respond more effectively to modern challenges.

Greek police (EL.AS) have dismantled 14 criminal organizations operating in various areas of the country. Olympic security aided by 13 Greek officers, and Brenda
Thirteen members of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) and a K-9 dog assisted the French authorities for the 2024 Olympics this summer.
The police officers' responsibilities included the detection of explosives, forged documents and the fight against illegal immigration.
The team consisted of four women and eight men and one liaison officer at the Center for International Cooperation.

The Hellenic Police announced on Monday that an officer reportedly responsible for vulgar social media posts had retired in 2021.
According to SYRIZA MP Elena Akrita, this is the person with whom MEP Nikos Pappas had an altercation via private Instagram messages.

A Roma man has been arrested for looting a house burned by the Attica fire in Penteli, police officers patrolling areas of northeastern Attica have said.
