EYP deputy chief replaced to boost fight against organized crime
In a move aimed, according to sources, at bolstering Greece's National Intelligence Service (EYP) in its fight against organized crime, the government on Tuesday replaced the agency's deputy chief, Lieutenant-General Giorgos Kellis, with Antonis Tzitzis, a former officer of the Greek Police (ELAS).

The bomb disposal unit of the Greek Police (ELAS) has been dispatched to the scene.

A 59-year-old man impersonating judicial and military authorities was handed 10 months suspended jail sentence in Thessaloniki on Thursday.
The man presented himself on social media as "national prosecutor" and a career military man with hunting rifles at his possession which he would use to hurt people.

New chiefs appointed to police and fire service
The Government Council for National Security (KYSEA) on Tuesday decided to appoint new police and fire chiefs, in a bid to address mounting public concerns about law and order.
Following the council's decisions, Dimitris Mallios, until now head of the Alien and Border Protection Branch, will replace Lazaros Mavropoulos as chief of the Hellenic Police (ELAS).
