Documentary on senior marathoners to premiere in Athens in aid of MDA Hellas
Following a successful screening at the 18th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in March, Eliana Abravanel's "Finish Line" will be the subject of a special avant premiere in Athens, at the Danaos cinema on May 11, starting at 8 p.m., with proceeds going in aid of MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Hellas.
Stolen Marathon messenger statue to be replaced
The Olympic Flame Torch Relay continues its way around Greece, visiting Komotini, Xanthi, Katerini and Larissa on Monday before traveling toward Athens on Tuesday evening.

5th Athens Half Marathon kicks off
The 5th Athens Half Marathon kicked off at 9pm on March 20 in the heart of Athens, at Syntagma Square, in front of the Greek Parliament, with more than 18,000 runners taking part.
The Athens Half Marathon event includes three (3) different races with timing services and one (1) more with no timing services for athletes with disabilities and athletes of Special Olympics.

5th annual Athens semi-marathon starts Sunday, March 20
Over 18,000 runners will take part in this year’s 5th annual Athens semi-marathon to take place on Sunday, March 20. Professionals, amateurs, locals and foreigners are expected to all take to the streets of Athens to test their endurance in long distance running. The race will kick off at the ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ on Amalias Avenue at 9 am on the morning Sunday, March 20.
Come join the Santa Run in Athens on Nov. 29
Santa Run Athens will be held again on Sunday, November 29, in the center of Athens at 11.30 a.m. The event is an international phenomenon which takes place in several big cities around the world.
All runners will put on a Santa suit taking part in a symbolic race, without timing, where everyone will be a winner and a supporter of a special cause.

A Walking Dead fan in Albuguergue, New Mexico, budgeoned his friend to death after a marathon viewing of the Walking Dead. Damon Perry, aged 23, states he attacked his friend Christopher Paquin, aged 23, with kicks and shap objects including items such as a guitar and a microwave oven.
