Heavy mood in Turkey

It is high time we talk about the mood of much of the country - perhaps not all Turkish citizens but at least those who are well-educated, who live a Western lifestyle, and who want to continue to do so.

Commission to monitor renovation of prayer room at Turkey's ODTÜ

Upon instruction by the president of Turkey's Higher Education Board (YÖK), a commission has been formed in order to monitor the renovation of a prayer room inside the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) campus as well as disciplinary measures to be taken by the Rector's office against students who allegedly physically assaulted a group of students while they were performing prayers.

It’s official: Eurobarometer shows Greeks are the unhappiest people of Europe

The Eurobarometer, a series of public opinion surveys conducted on behalf of the European Commission, was released on Wednesday and shows that Greeks are not optimistic about the future. 60% of Greek respondents say they are not satisfied with their lives compared to the EU28 average of 19%.
