No metro, ISAP electric railway or tram services on Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m.

There will be no metro, ISAP electric railway or tram services in Athens from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday due to a work stoppage by employees who are protesting the induction of public transport companies into a fund of state assets slated for privatization and have vowed to continue their action.

No Proastiakos or intercity services over Easter due to strike

There will be no Proastiakos suburban railway or intercity train services from Orthodox Easter Saturday until Monday morning two days later due to a strike by staff who are protesting plans to privatize railway service operator Trainose.

The strike will start at 6 p.m. on Saturday and is due to end 40 hours later, at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Public transport unions organize industrial action on Labor Day

Early morning services on the Athens metro, electric railway Kifissia-Piraeus ISAP and tram will be disrupted on Friday, Labor Day, due to a stoppage announced by their unions. Services will resume at 9 a.m.

Trainose, the company operating the national and suburban (Proastiakos) rail network, has also announced that its staff was going on strike in observance of May 1.

Railway workers join ferry staff in Labor Day strike

Trainose, the company responsible for operating Greece's national and suburban (Proastiakos) rail network, on Tuesday announced that workers will be going on strike on Friday in observance of May 1 Labor Day.

They will be joining workers on Greece's ferry boats, who announced their intention to strike earlier this month.

Discounts on trains and buses in Greece during election period

Passengers using intercity trains between January 22 and 28 will receive a 30 percent discount as part of a promotion by the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE) to coincide with the January 25 elections.

Customers buying tickets in advance will also receive the customary 15 percent discount for pre-booking.
