Stojanovic stuns world number 28 Babos in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN - Young Serbian female tennis player Nina Stojanovic has caused a major upset at the Shenzhen WTA tournament by defeating world number 28 Timea Babos of Hungary 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 Monday to reach the last sixteen stage.

Stojanovic won after slightly over two hours of play and will next face Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

Halep beats Jankovic in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN - Serbia's top-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic has suffered an early exit at the Shenzhen WTA tournament after losing 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to Romania's Simona Halep in the first round.

World number four Halep, who won after an hour and 49 minutes of play, will next face Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic.

Jankovic beats Ostapenko in Moscow

MOSCOW - Serbia's highest-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic has got off to a successful start at the Moscow WTA tournament after beating Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia 6-3, 6-3 Tuesday.

Jankovic won after 76 minutes of play and will next face the winner of the match between Anastasiya Pavlyuchenko of Russia and Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic.

Jankovic vs Krunic in battle for Hong Kong quarters

HONG KONG - Serbia's highest-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic has got off to a successful start at the Hong Kong WTA tournament after beating American Samantha Crawford 6-3, 6-1.

She will next face compatriot Aleksandra Krunic, who defeated Luxika Kumkhum of Thailand 6-1, 6-0 on Monday.

It will be Jankovic and Krunic's first-ever encounter.

Jankovic ousted in Wuhan

WUHAN - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic has been ousted from the WTA tennis tournament in Wuhan, China, after losing to Czech Barbora Strycova 1-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the round of last 16 early Thursday.

Strycova came from a set behind to win the match after nearly two and a half hours of play.

The prize money in Wuhan is 2,589,000 dollars.

Jankovic overcomes Lisicki to set up clash with Konjuh

GUANGZHOU - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic is through to the semi-finals of the Guangzhou WTA tennis tournament after beating Germany's Sabine Lisicki 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 on Thursday.

Second-seeded Jankovic, who is the defending champion, won after 93 minutes of play and is now 6-1 head-to-head against the German.
